The role

As the HR Manager at We Are Social we will look to you to manage the People and Culture requirements of the business in a timely and accurate manner. This role takes responsibility for the operational elements of attracting, developing and retaining talent and working with the General Manager on developing and rolling-out strategies and initiatives that will continue to build a high performance culture.

The nature of We Are Social’s business requires a high level of flexibility, common sense and resilience. While the specific content of your role is clearly defined, the nature of the demands placed on us by our clients mean that this role will evolve over time and needs a ‘can do’ approach to picking projects up and making them happen.

The ideal candidate will revel in creating a vibe amongst the team, whether they are in person in the office, on set with partners, or scattered across multiple locations, our P&C Manager will support us to instil a sense of pride and togetherness.

You will have a creative eye and a nose for what makes our current – and prospective – team tick, setting us up for success in producing ideas worth talking about.

Some of the key duties will include:

Talent Acquisition

  • Executing the strategy for recruitment and selection
  • Managing the end-to-end recruitment process, talent pooling, strategic sourcing, selection, contract generation and induction
  • Reducing reliance on recruiter agencies and increasing the direct hire rate
  • Developing and managing Internships programs

Induction

  • Continue to develop the WAS Induction process, roll out and manage this process with support from the leadership and operations team.

HR Strategy

  • Set the HR Strategy with the GM in Australia
  • Managing the implementation of the HR Strategy for Australia
  • Work with the global offices to ensure alignment of strategy and knowledge sharing

Culture

  • Ongoing development of strategies and initiatives to foster company culture, enhance working relationships, foster collaboration and team spirit e.g. team building activities, mentoring and buddy programs

Employee Relations

  • Provide advice and guidance to the management team and employees

Remuneration and Employee Benefits

  • Internal and external benchmarking for salaries across the business
  • Execution against our refreshed EVP and proactive review to ensure we are evolving and sitting at the forefront of the industry

Training & Development

  • Developing and maintaining We Are Social’s training calendar, including technical training and knowledge sharing sessions
  • Rolling out soft skill training sessions around people e.g. leadership & time management
  • Building out We Are Social’s training offering to employees

Performance Management

  • Developing and managing the annual career planning process
  • Providing HR consultation and support with performance management issues within teams
  • Managing the annual performance review process and assisting with KPI setting

HR Administration

  • First point of contact for all HR related queries
  • Administer HR documentation, ensuring that all filing systems are up to date including offer letters, contracts, right to work and benefits information
  • Conduct exit interviews and compile and consolidate data

Requirements

In addition to your technical competence, we will also expect you to be confident in the specific areas listed below:

Organisation: You need to be able to manage and organise your time, systems and processes effectively. You must prioritise well and ensure that you are able to complete a varied task list within your day. Attention to detail, focus and accuracy are vitally important.

Communication: You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, instilling confidence in others with regard to your competency and ability to deliver. Identify timings and channels of communication to ensure that you are listened to and understood. Within a fast paced and demanding environment, effective communication is a key skill in order to be successful.

Accountability: Commit to your actions – you need to take responsibility for all the tasks within your remit but also to flag any issues that you see arising. You are part of the team and a key support to the wider team. We do expect you to show your own initiative within the realm of your role proactively working to help to solve the problems you encounter.

Resilience: You will need to adopt strategies that enable you to maintain effective performance whilst under pressure. You will need to focus on making appropriate responses during stressful or pressurised situations. Solid logical planning, effective time management, good communication and above all the ability to manage expectations will help you to achieve in this area.
