Help We Are Social win a Webby Award!

Awards

Over the past 12 months, we’ve been standing by our creative mission: to make ideas worth talking about. Needless to say, we were thrilled when we heard the news that our hard work had paid off and we’d been nominated not once, but twice in the 25th Annual Webby Awards.

But we have a favour to ask: if you’ve ever enjoyed reading any of our content or reports, or learnt something from any of our events or webinars, please could you spare two minutes and vote for both of our campaigns: Snap Safe and Vodafone x Lewis Hamilton’s #5Gamechanger. Your votes will help us to bring home the prestigious People’s Voice Awards (voting closes 11.59pm on 6th May).

Snap Safe: Stay Back, Save Lives – VOTE HERE
(Best use of filters/lenses)

We wanted to do our bit to help the fight against Covid-19. So when the UN released its call for creatives to stop the spread of the virus, we responded with Snap Safe. A Snapchat AR lens that used proximity technology to enable users to practice safe social distancing in real-time.

Social distancing is second nature to us now, but at the start of the pandemic there was great confusion about what 2 metres looked like, plus people around the world were either ignoring the advice or taking extreme protective measures. Created and launched in 7 days, the lens illustrated the correct distance and if anyone got too close, an alert appeared reading STAY BACK. SAVE LIVES. See more about the lens in the case film below.

Vodafone x Lewis Hamilton: #5Gamechanger – VOTE HERE
(Best arts/entertainment)

Vodafone wanted to demonstrate the potential power of 5G with its newest ambassador, Lewis Hamilton.

For this unique performance, we placed two pianos in different locations and connected them through Vodafone’s 5G network. We teamed Lewis up with musician and producer Jay Keys and allowed Lewis to show off his piano skills in real-time.

The duet was made possible thanks to the high speeds of 5G, making it feel like both Lewis and Jay were playing together in the same place at the same time. Judge the results for yourselves in the video below.

Voting closes on 6th May. Once you’ve voted, please confirm your email address via the email prompt to ensure your vote is counted.
