Located in New York City, the We Are Social US office is a tight-knit and hard-working group, dedicated to understanding social platforms and the people who use them.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced account lead to sit within our Sport team. This person will be motivated by building client relationships, providing insights-driven strategies, and collaborating with cross-departmental teams, while growing and mentoring account teams. You should be truly passionate about sports, culture, social media, what trends are shaping it, what best practice looks like and how brands and fans are changing the landscape.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner closely Strategy team to drive strategic vision and planning for the client
  • Work closely with Project Management to ensure that the day-to-day execution of client deliverables is smooth
  • Own the relationship with Director and VP level clients. Seen as the trusted, go-to partner in the eyes of our clients
  • Partner with the Group Account Director and agency leadership to proactively identify and seek out organic growth opportunities to expand the agency’s connection to the client’s business and lead future account planning
  • Oversee research, strategy and creative concepting as well as production and execution of always-on social content and campaigns
  • Develop deep expertise on the client’s business
  • Help lead on key new business initiatives and new engagements for the agency
  • Create a thriving environment for other Account team members and manage and mentor Account team members connected to your account(s) to help guide and support the internal strategy and creative processes
  • Oversee budget, review and manage scopes, provide input on schedules and timelines, and partner with the team to evaluate resource management across projects
  • Help set the tone internally for striving for innovative strategic and creative thinking. Drive both the internal team and client partners to push boundaries
  • Effectively balance the needs of the client, as well as the needs of the agency and internal teams
  • Ensure consistent client satisfaction and retention and encourage a collaborative, team oriented environment

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in an account role at leading creative/marketing agencies
  • Passion and knowledge of Sports, particularly Basketball and Football. Preferably knowledge of Global Football (Soccer)
  • Deep understanding of digital/social platforms and trends
  • Proven ability to help drive and inspire disruptive creative ideas and breakthrough campaign work
  • Ability to storytell and build compelling deck narratives to sell in strategy and creative
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
  • Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem solving capabilities
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience working on integrated campaigns and brand actions/activations that focus on driving earned cultural coverage
