Wimbledon is nearly upon us and this can only mean one thing… It’s time to get your Wimbledon Wiggle on!
Us Brits can sometimes be a bit reserved when it comes to celebrating, so when evian asked us to help them inject some Live young spirit into this year’s Wimbledon tournament while driving loads of online buzz, we jumped at the chance to come up with something that would make the stiff upper lip and polite applause a thing of the past. And so, the Wimbledon Wiggle was born.
For those who haven’t come across the Wiggle yet (or seen the coverage in MediaPost, Campaign or the Drum), it’s a dance move that we’ve created with evian, inspired by that cheeky action tennis players make when awaiting a serve on court. Of course, it’s crucial that we gave people a bit of Wiggle inspiration before they get going, so working with Kameleon, we created a music video to inspire them.
The catchy backing track has been created especially for Wigglers by up-and-coming music talent Tigermonkey. You can even download it so that you can get your Wiggle on whenever, wherever!
To support the campaign, we’ve also created a Facebook app where people can upload their Wiggle for their chance to win Wimbledon tickets. Here, people can check out other Wiggles from all across the UK, vote for their favourites and share with their friends and followers.
And it’s not just us who are excited about the campaign - we’ve even had social media support in the form of Facebook posts and a re-tweet from tennis star Maria Sharapova!
People who visit Wimbledon.com can find more information about it on the page we've created on the site. We will even see an outdoor campaign kick off on Monday when Wimbledon starts, at shopping sites around London. It’s all been created and activated around our concept - we can’t wait to see the Wimbledon Wiggle brought to life across the city!
If you want to join the ranks of Wimbledon Wigglers from across the UK and help us celebrate one of the year’s most exciting sporting events in Live young style, submit your Wiggle. If you do it before midnight on Monday 24th June you might just win a pair of Wimbledon tickets. Get Wiggling... and good luck!
