The role

In We Are Social Madrid we’re looking for a Financial Controller.

A Finance Controller is a key person in the way we need to conduct business, since she/he will keep track of everything related to finance in our business and operations, including: P&L, Accounting, Reporting, Purchases Order, Invoicing, Revenues and Expenses Control.

This role is key in our young but growing and successful offices in Madrid and Portugal, with a cross departmental relationship mostly with the Client Services , Operations and People & Culture Teams, plus close and almost daily relation with our offices in Milan and London.

Job responsibilities

  • Build and support the monthly reporting and P&L for HQ.
  • Monthly accounting review.
  • Cash flow balance and planning.
  • Act as business partner of the Managing Director and Client leads to help them build the best commercial approach, financial proposals, and similar to ensure profitability, flexibility and efficiency.
  • Be a business partner for the Client Services team by supporting them with profitability tracking, budgets, financial process, and others.
  • Coordination and guidance in finance/administrative tasks for client services (PO’s, Quotation, Invoicing, Revenues, Expenses, etc.).
  • Tracks and analyse key financial metrics and operational procedures to foster process improvements.
  • Develop a procurement strategy and procedure for suppliers.
  • Budget build and control.
  • Financial Forecast.
  • Suppliers payment and control.
  • Invoice supervision and revenue control.
  • Relation and control of external consultants. Global audit support.
  • Support to the management of any financial issue.
  • Identify cost saving opportunities and efficiencies.
  • Supervision, operation and maintenance of the agency ERP’s.
  • Keep track record of contracts from clients and suppliers.
  • Support or oversee other administrative and logistical tasks.
  • Oversee and train our Office Manager in her administrative support tasks.  
  • Work alongside all teams to educate them on financial processes, concepts and vision.

We will appreciate it positively:

  • Business understanding of the Portuguese market.
  • Knowledge of ERP implementation.
  • Previous experience in advertising agencies, creative environments, production companies, studios, or similar type of companies is a plus. 

Requirements

  • 6-7 years of  experience in the same role or in audit/consultant companies.
  • BA in Administration, Economics, Engineer or other Financial related studies.
  • Background or understanding in the advertising, digital or media business is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the main Spanish and Portuguese accountant and tax rules.
  • Good people relations, We Are Social both in our business and in our office.
  • Good at fast-paced, flexible and open working environments.
  • Detail and result oriented.
  • Team player.
  • Strong analytical mindset.
  • Excellent Office user (specially Excel of course).
  • Excellent English speaker ( Portuguese or Italian is a plus).
