If you live for sharp comedic timing, know exactly how to make an internet subculture laugh, and make work people actually screenshot and send to the group chat — we want to hear from you.

We’re looking for a Social Creative / Content Creator to be the comedic engine behind one of our biggest clients at We Are Social: an iconic Australian brand sitting right at the centre of culture. You’ll be the person who makes it live, breathe and cut through online. You’ll primarily own the fast-paced, daily « always-on » content that keeps the brand in the middle of the conversation.

You genuinely live on the timeline, natively understand social platforms, and know how online subcultures tick.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • You’ll be single-handedly scripting, shooting, and editing short-form video (TikToks, Reels, Shorts) and stills that actually stop people from scrolling. You’re comfortable being behind the camera (and occasionally in front of it if a bit calls for it).
  • You’ll spot emerging trends, audio loops, and cultural shifts in real-time and turn them into brand-relevant, genuinely funny content before the internet moves on.
  • Take your ideas from a chaotic brainstorm to a clean presentation deck, all the way through client approval, final mobile edit, and hitting ‘Publish’.
  • Write sharp, funny, and distinct captions. You can effortlessly switch tones between an unhinged TikTok comment section, a hype-heavy music activation, or a polished B2B post on LinkedIn.
    Getting out from behind the desk. There’s real scope to travel and shoot on location at live events, activations and cultural moments where the content actually happens.

Who You Are

  • You understand comedic timing, internet irony, and visual punchlines. Your personal feed, portfolio, or creator account proves you know how to make people laugh on the internet.
  • You instinctively know why a video blows up on TikTok, why a photo carousels on Insta, and why other things flop. You « get » the unwritten rules of social.
  • You have 3–5 years of experience (we care more about your taste and your output than your years on paper) in a social, editorial, or agency environment, or you’ve built a dedicated personal creator channel from scratch.
  • You are hyper-proficient with mobile editing tools (CapCut, Canva, etc.), you move fast, and you’re a true « maker » who doesn’t need a massive crew to get a great video shot.

Read this first: this is a concept-led role. We’re hiring for ideas, not just edits. You’ll be cracking platform-native concepts from a blank page; the making is how they come to life, not the job itself. AWARD School (or equivalent conceptual training) is a must. If your reel is beautifully cut but the ideas underneath are thin, this isn’t the one.
