Sr. Account Director United States Account Management
The role
We Are Social is seeking a Senior Account Director to join our growing team! This role will be responsible for serving as a senior lead, overseeing a team who manages the day-to-day account initiatives for an assigned client or set of clients. This role will involve the following areas: client relationship building and true partnership, successful execution of client campaigns or retainers, managing account team members, management of scopes/budgets/revenue forecasts, developing presentations and proposals, overseeing the internal team process and workflow, client problem solving, collaboration with internal stakeholders and planning/reporting. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the aforementioned areas.

Traditional agency experience is not required, but it’s a plus. What matters is your deep understanding of what resonates with social audiences. This role is energetic, innovative and forward-thinking. Alongside engaging with communities, you’ll guide brands by staying ahead of social trends and cultural moments. SALARY RANGE
$100,000-$300,000 annually
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Serve as the primary senior point of contact and build strong relationships with clients, understanding their business goals, processes, and ways of working.
- Act as the internal liaison between the client and the agency’s cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Identify proactive client opportunities and present to GAD and/or Head of Department
- Oversee the account members on the team, providing mentorship, guidance, and support.
- Manage multiple work streams simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and resources efficiently.
- Provide strategic marketing guidance and thought leadership: Working to understand your clients’ businesses while simultaneously educating clients about how we can help. Become fluent in business objectives and organization goals
- Collaboration with internal teams and their respective senior leads (creative, media, strategy, etc.) to ensure seamless execution of client campaigns.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and social media platform changes to identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
- Conduct and lead regular client meetings, status updates, and progress reports, keeping stakeholders informed on campaign performance, results, and future initiatives.
- Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and actively participate in new business pitches and proposals.
- Manage financial performance of assigned accounts. Includes: effectively monitoring account health and managing a revenue tracker/forecast in collaboration with your Group Account Director.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork, open communication, and a culture of excellence among the account management team.
- Maintain rigor and consistency in use of agency financial systems and templates
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE
- Proven track record of at least 6 years in a senior-level account management role preferably within an advertising agency, with a specific emphasis on social media content strategy and execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success in managing high-profile client accounts, delivering client satisfaction.
- Strong expertise in social media marketing, including a deep understanding of various social media platforms, trends, best practices, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights to optimize campaign performance.
- Experience in overseeing and leading account management teams, providing effective leadership, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
- Knowledge of brand experience, influencer/creator marketing, social-first creative and strategy playbooks.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, balancing priorities, resources, and timelines to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Curiosity about clients’ business and a passion for solving business challenges.
- Financial literacy and management of multiple budgets
- Facilitate weekly 1×1 meetings with direct reports
- Strong presentation skills and ability to develop a clear deck
- Leading New Business Pitches
- Highly proficient with Google Suite (Gmail, Doc, Slides, Sheets, Drive, Meet, Chat, Gemini) and Slack. Baseline knowledge of A.I. tools and functions. Added plus: Knowledge of Asana.
