Junior Designer Australia Design
The role
As a Junior Designer at We Are Social, Sydney, you’ll be responsible for the visualisation of creative concepts across a wide variety of campaigns and clients. You’ll work closely with our small, close-knit Design team as well as with Creatives, Editorial Staff and Account Management to bring ideas to life.
You’re handy with most aspects of Adobe CS, but adapt well to all the new tools. You have a keen eye for all aspects of the design process like colour theory, typography, layout, as well as motion graphics, and have demonstrated skills in all of the above. Skills in video editing, and an interest in animation and illustration are a definite plus. You soak up design inspiration like a sponge and are keen to push visuals in new directions and be proactive and flexible in your work approach. You’re looking for a role where you can learn from others, do some of the best work of your career, and win some awards. You’re proactive, live and breathe social, and maybe even create your own content on TikTok or IG.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualise and visualise content for social media and other campaigns
- Have an excellent knowledge of industry trends, campaigns and platforms
- Challenge yourself and others to consistently improve
- Ensure the level of design that comes out of the agency is of a high visual standard
- Have a keen eye for detail and be able to maintain quality control of own work
- Work efficiently on a number of different clients within the working day, meeting deadlines and making sure projects are completed both on time and on budget
- Self initiate ideas and proactively contribute to briefs
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Collaborate with clients and colleagues at all levels
You’ll have:
- Around 0-2 years experience in a digital, creative or social agency
- Proficiency in design for digital and, in particular, social media platforms
- A degree level education in graphic, digital or interactive design, fine arts, illustration and/or other related design discipline (or, are about to complete one)
