The role

We Are looking for a Community Manager to join an established Sports Editorial team here in London who are pushing the boundaries of sports marketing for world-class sports and lifestyle brands.

Who We Are

We Are Social Sport London is a team of 40+ sport obsessed copywriters, digital researchers, strategists, creatives and producers. We understand how culture, technology and consumer behaviour interlink around sport to produce award winning creative solutions – we call this Game Changing Sports Marketing.

We’re proud to be a multi award-winning agency, with Cannes Lions, One Show, Webby and Shorty Awards, to name but a few. Our most recent work has seen us help Pepsi, Meta and adidas deliver some of their biggest and most innovative campaigns to date, from breaking into the metaverse to smashing records on TikTok. 

The biggest and best sports brands, rights holders and sponsors in the world including adidas, Pepsi, ATP, Ferrari, ATP and many, many more.

We’ve travelled the world, shooting the world’s biggest and best sporting talent, at the biggest sporting moments in history. World Cups, European Championships, Champions League finals, Rugby World Cups, all the tennis majors, and more.

The Opportunity 

Is writing about sport on social media your passion?

Can you write to entertain in the feed, and to amuse in the comments section?

Can you think on your feet to find the perfect thing to say on the final whistle of a major sporting moment?

Can you change how you write to reflect the tone of voice of multiple brands?

We Are looking for a Community Manager to join an established Sports Editorial team here in London who are pushing the boundaries of sports marketing for world-class sports and lifestyle brands. You will have experience watching and writing about sport on social for global sports brands, community managing key accounts and producing creative copy that taps into sports culture. The role will require you to undertake research tasks that drill down to the heart of what a brand’s community want to engage with on social. You will be required to cover some sporting events that may take place over weekends. 

Requirements

What You’ll Have Delivered Elsewhere

  • Crafted social copy for distribution across social media channels that have led to high engagement within the community.
  • Supported in the day-to-day community management for major sports brands and engaged with the community which has helped the team around you create viral moments.
  • Handled channel and content management for major sports brands with minimal to no errors.
  • Ran the weekend reactive content for major sports brands to help those brands react to sporting moments
  • Maintained editorial planning calendars and publishing toolkits that have been adopted by multiple clients
  • Be a guardian of your clients’ tone of voice – ensuring the quality of copy and content remains high across all accounts and a delivered authenticity within the community.
  • Qualitative research across multiple sports brands
  • Found story hooks and insights for athletes, ambassadors, sports brands, then worked with teams to create social-first content for brands with your ideas being adopted.

What Else Are We Looking For?

  • Experience of writing social copy and community managing for brands 
  • Someone with their finger on the pulse of sports culture across multiple communities
  • Someone with the ability to interpret multiple brand TOVs and the different audiences sports brands are trying to reach
  • A flair for storytelling across multiple social platforms
  • Someone who is good at receiving feedback and working to tight deadlines
  • Good social platform knowledge and understanding of the ever-changing social content best practices on each
  • Someone with the flexibility to work in a reactive way
