Meta revamps Facebook for Gen Z users

Meta has announced a redesign of Facebook that reportedly will focus more on Gen-Z users. The update will include things like a TikTok-style video tab and new features for Facebook Dating.
My Roman Empire? Mark Zuckerberg leg-pressing a box of nuggets surrounded by fries. You? Well, Meta has previewed its latest video generation tool, called “Movie Gen”, showing exactly that. Users will be able to create videos depicting anything they like – think baby hippos swimming or you sky diving in a tutu. Or in Zuckerberg’s case, it’s leg-pressing nuggets and working out like a gladiator. The options are seemingly endless.
YouTube is releasing a series of updates for YouTube Shorts. These include increasing video length to up to three minutes, updating the Shorts player, introducing templates, and adding a new trends page for its mobile app.
Snapchat is rolling out its “Footsteps” feature to all iOS users this week, after previously only being available to SnapcChat+ subscribers. The feature uses Snap Map to track where you have been across the globe, letting you see how much of the world you’ve explored. And, importantly, your ‘Footsteps’ are only visible to you.
