Instagram launches Edits

Meta has officially launched its video creation app, Edits. Users can keep track of video ideas, get ideas for new content, create and edit videos, and experiment with visual effects and AI tools. In the first two days, it was downloaded over 702,900 times.
Following in the footsteps of iconic space travellers Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Katy Perry (😬), Meta is heading to space – well, kind of. Meta is working with Booz Allen to install a version of its AI model, Llama 3.2, aboard the International Space Station (ISS) National Laboratory. The idea is that astronauts will be able to use the AI model for problem-solving and content generation in space. And, of course, the model will have a very serious and professional name – SpaceLlama.
X has launched a new feature on its AI Grok chatbot that can answer questions about what’s around you. Users can point their phone at objects like products, signs, and documents and ask questions like “What am I looking at?”

YouTube’s birthday wish this year was to make its platform even better for us. And it came true! To celebrate the platform’s 20th birthday, it has released a host of new features. These include: a 4x playback speed, an AI-powered channel radio, several new display options on the TV app, and more.
Meta has added a bunch of new updates to the desktop version of Threads. You can now create posts while scrolling your feeds, easily access custom feeds, and copy and paste a post as an image. These updates come along with Threads officially moving over to Threads.com.
TikTok has started rolling out support for ALT text for photo posts. Creators can now add descriptive text for photo posts to help users with screen readers understand the visual content. Creators can add ALT text during the upload process, or after a post has been published.
