We Are Social picking up Best in Show (Digital) at the FAB Awards

It’s been six months since we updated you on our success in the IAB Creative Showcase Grand Prix and the Revolution Awards, so here’s a quick (and slightly self-indulgent) update on recent awards wins.

At the FAB Awards in May we won the Social Media category and picked up the FABulous Award (Best in Show, Digital) for our Marmarati campaign for Unilever. In June the Marmarati was Highly Commended in Consumer Products & Services and Shortlisted in the Social Media category of the New Media Age Effectiveness Awards. And in August it won in the Brand Experience category of the GRAMIAs.

We had an even better September, when we won ‘Best Use of Social Media in a Crisis’ at the Communicate Magazine Digital Impact Awards for our work with Eurostar in December last year (an award we’re particularly proud of), as well as being shortlisted in the Social Media category of Travolution Awards for our Little break, Big difference campaign for Eurostar and in the CorpComms DigiAwards as ‘Best Specialist Digital Agency’.

Of course, these were all existing digital or trade awards, but awards are starting to emerge which specifically recognise excellence in our field.

We Are Social being awarded Editor's Choice at the Reputation Online Awards

Last month the first ever Reputation Online Effectiveness Awards were announced, new awards that celebrate the best work in social media:

The communications industry has become saturated with digital shops and social media specialists. There are a lot of people promising a lot, and not delivering much, so it’s important to highlight the best work and give it the credit it deserves.

Early on in the evening we were happy to be Highly Commended for our Marmarati campaign for Unilever in ‘Best Integrated Online Campaign’ has well as it being shortlisted in ‘Special Award for Innovation’ and ‘Best Use of Social Networking’. Our Little break, Big difference work for Eurostar was also shortlisted in ‘Best Use of Blog Relations’.

However, we were ecstatic when Vikki Chowney appeared on stage and announced the Editors Choice award:

We created the Editors Choice award to recognise outstanding work across campaigns and taking agency ethos into account. It does not necessarily reflect the biggest budgets or the most high-profile campaigns, but highlights an agency that is helping to shape the future of the industry.

We Are Social is behind some of the most impressive entries that appear on the Reputation Online Awards shortlist […] As a team, their rate of growth in just two years is impressive by anyone’s standards. The agency has presence in four countries, with almost 40 members of staff and works with some of the world’s largest brands – from Coca-Cola to Pernod Ricard, 20th Century Fox to Ford, Microsoft and Skype as a founding client. We Are Social continues to attract respected and highly talented individuals who want to be part of a team that is undoubtedly leading the field.

We’d like to thank all the awards organisers and judges, but most of all to applaud the amazing team at We Are Social – this industry recognition reflects the thinking, hard work and dedication of a great bunch of people Nathan and I are privileged to work with.
