NEXT11: Data Love

I’m here in lovely Berlin at NEXT11, Germany’s answer to LeWeb. The cream of Germany’s digital, social and start-up talent seems to be here, along with a spattering of US, UK and other European players, in an über-cool warehouse venue in south west Berlin.

Yesterday’s highlights were Rovio’s Peter Vesterbacka, with a ballsy ‘you can take on the big boys an win’ attitude, Dan Rollman of URDB telling the crazy story of their crowd-sourced world records, and Ian Crocombe from AKQA talking insightfully about their work for Nike, Heineken and Fiat. And the after-party wasn’t bad either….

Today has got off to a good start with a great session from Undercurrent’s Mike Arauz with stories of Collective Action.

I’m off now to grab some lunch, before I head back to the Social stage to catch ‘How Can my Business Leverage Social Media? Perspectives from Germany’, but you can catch a live stream of the afternoon session on the International Stage from 12:30 UK time, kicking off on the theme of ‘Information is Power’.
