A mildly popular blog’s stats laid bare #2
I thought it would be useful (for me at least) to give a quick run down of the headline stats for the We Are Social blog and associated RSS feed, Facebook page, Twitter account and LinkedIn group. This really is going to be quick and dirty, unfortunately I don’t have the time to do an exhaustive analysis as I did a couple of years ago.
Unique visitors
In 2011, we had 231,061 unique visitors. Looking at this monthly and comparing to previous years, the picture looks like this, with a rough average of 22,500 unique visitors a month during 2011 and strong year-on-year growth:
Page views
In 2011, we had 655,265 page views. Looking at this monthly and comparing to previous years, the picture looks like this, with a rough average of 55,000 page views a month during 2011 and strong year-on-year growth:
RSS/email subscribers
According to Feedburner, we ended 2011 with 5,236 RSS subscribers (of which 957 were subscribed via email). Looking at how this has changed over time, again we can see strong growth:
Facebook fans
We ended 2011 with 14,139 Facebook fans, and again with strong growth over time:
Twitter followers
We ended the year with 50,913 followers on Twitter, a nice headline figure, and yes, you guessed it, strong growth over time:
LinkedIn group members
LinkedIn groups stats are public, so you can explore these yourself, but the headlines are we ended the year with 4,882 members of the We Are Social LinkedIn group, and again showed strong growth over time:
Conclusions
So, we’re continuing to fire on all cylinders and showing strong organic growth in all of the metrics I’ve looked at above. However, as we all know, there’s a lot more to it than that, but you’ll forgive us for keeping that detail to ourselves.
Which wraps things up for this year – In favour of actually finding the time to publish something (unlike last year), I’ve kept this short and sweet…
