Achieving ambitions with HSBC: #StartsToday
For a lot of people, the start of a new year is a chance to take stock and think about what they want to achieve in the next 12 months. From getting fitter, to travelling more, to finally starting that business you’ve been thinking about for years, everyone starts the new year off with the best intentions.
HSBC wanted to drive brand love through demonstrating how they are ‘supporting human ambition’. So to help do this, HSBC created #StartsToday, their latest campaign which ran across TV, OOH, digital, print, and social.
We kicked off the campaign with a short video that encouraged our audience to think about, and share their goals for 2016. Alongside this, we ran a Twitter poll asking people which area their goals focused on, and played this back to them in a video infographic.
Almost 50,000 of you answered – but are you prioritising career or health in 2016? The results are in.https://t.co/yXIA9cBQ6V

This was the first phase of the campaign – we didn’t stop there. We decided to work with some of the country’s leading authorities on various subjects to give people everywhere some useful advice, and a helping hand to reach their goals. We connected our five experts with HSBC’s community to provide practical tips and advice around key areas, (property, travel, business, money, and work-life balance), through content posted on the HSBC social channels.
For example, entrepreneur and investor, Sarah Willingham, talked about her passion for personal finance, and shared her expertise and tips around staying motivated and taking control of your hard-earned money.
Richard Reed, entrepreneur and Innocent smoothies-starter, shared his start-up knowledge and tips for those looking to overcome their fear of failure.
It wasn’t a one-sided conversation – we also invited the social community to ask our experts questions, such as ‘I’m looking to buy my first home but don’t know where to start,’ and ‘how can we inspire young people to be their own boss?’, and posted responses back to them.

Overall, we’ve had an amazing response from HSBC’s community. People have even gone so far as to respond to the posts adding their own tips and advice, which has been great to see. Hopefully, we’ve helped people all over the country realise their goals for 2016.
