Helping to promote HSBC’s digital banking products on social
HSBC came to us with a brief to drive awareness about their seamless digital banking products, and to show how they enable people to progress in a small way, in everyday life.
From this, we went away and created two heartwarming films about human stories. The films placed phones in the hands of two unusual characters, showing that HSBC’s digital banking products can be used by anyone and anywhere.
The first film, ‘87 Years Young’ launched on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter on Valentine’s Day, and follows a day in the life of 87-year-old Arthur. We see him going to a hipster hairdressers, playing chess with his grandson, building-up to a first date with the lovely Penny. On his date, he uses Fast Balance to check he has enough money to treat Penny to dinner.
The second film, ‘Adventurer’ launched last week. It follows Jason, as he sets off on a 10 day challenge, cycling through the wilderness to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society. With the support from his family, Chris Hoy, and quick checks of his HSBC Fast Balance banking app, we see Jason stay motivated to finish his adventure.
We made sure that both of the films focused on highlighting the digital products that HSBC have developed to help their customers manage their finances by removing the boundaries of traditional offline banking.
