Bringing families together through the power of Vodafone 5G

With the greater speed and capacity provided by Vodafone 5G, there have never been more ways for families to connect on a meaningful level.

Vodafone wanted to show how the future of 5G will change the way people experience key moments with their family and friends, told through the story of a family living in the UK.

To make this happen, we worked with a real family who, because of distance, do not get to spend time together on a regular basis or have the opportunity to enjoy doing the things they love most. By getting to know three generations of this family, we found that reading bedtime stories to their grandchildren was a really important moment for the grandparents – and one of the their favourite rituals when they were able to get together.

Using a Holocube – an innovative and fully integrated 3D projection platform, we were able to create an experience where the children and their parents could hear and see the grandparents reading the classic bedtime story, The Three Little Pigs, in their own home – despite the distance.



The film, produced by We Are Social Studios, launched on YouTube and will be targeted to Vodafone’s family audience across a number of different social channels (including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter) over the next four weeks. Helping to tell the story of how in the future Vodafone 5G network will enhance families experiences and connect people on a more meaningful level.



The experience was made possible by technological advances, such as 5G, and in the future holographic experiences – like this – will allow families to connect, no matter where they are in the world. Helping make every precious moment feel like it’s happening right in the room.
