Black Perspectives re-launches on IG Live

Events

This month, we’re re-launching our Instagram Live series – Black Perspectives. It celebrates Black creators and entrepreneurs, telling their stories and sharing insights into their worlds of work, and beyond.

The new series will be hosted by our Learning and Development Manager, Chenai Garikayi-Mendia, who will be joined by guests to discuss their background, expertise, online presence and what drives them to the work they do.

Episode 1 will take place at 1pm GMT on Monday 22nd May with guest Danielle Oreoluwa Jinadu, who impressively works as a disability advocate, fashion content creator and trainee lawyer. Living with sickle cell anaemia, Danielle has used her voice to inspire change in the global health community, including in her TEDx Talk “The Big Black Blood Issue”.

Danielle will discuss the intersection of being black and disabled, the potential impact of social platforms in changing the narrative and in raising awareness of sickle cell, and how to advocate for yourself.

Tune in to the first episode on the We Are Social Instagram channel.
