On Instagram, a new World Cup search hub will host a mix of World Cup content and an AI-powered voice effects tool is launching in DMs. Facebook is getting a “Football Mode” and giving users the chance to generate images of themselves in their team’s jersey. And on Messenger, Meta is introducing a Live Updates feature that lets users activate live match news in their chats.
Last week, Meta teased new features coming to Edits at an invite-only creator event in L.A. The first was an AI assistant that will use creator’s views and video retention insights to help creators come up with content ideas. Meta is also launching a desktop version of the app and users will be able to sync their work across mobile and desktop. Meta also announced a “Beta” tab for experiments and expanded audience insights. The AI assistant is currently in testing with attendees of the creator event and the desktop version of Edits is “coming soon.”
YouTube is launching a new music events series called “Music Nights”. The series will host IRL concerts and events from across the world. Upcoming events include Isaiah Rashad, Kacey Musgraves and the band Bleachers. As explained by YouTube: “Whether it’s an album release party, an intimate show, or a special tour stop, we collaborate closely with artists to transform some of the world’s most iconic venues into unforgettable, intimate fan experiences – and share them with fans everywhere.”
LinkedIn has launched a Creator Marketplace, connecting brands with creators on the platform. The marketplace shows audience size, insights into the creators audience demographic and notes on reach. As explained by LinkedIn: “Marketers can search for vetted creators by topic and content expertise, then quickly assess their profile for audience, performance, and fit.” It will first launch in the U.S. and Canada and is available through LinkedIn’s Campaign Manager in a new section called “Content and Assets.”
