Facebook is on a roll with a host of updates across its apps. Firstly, Facebook is launching a separate Marketplace app for existing frequent sellers. The “Seller” app lets users manage listings, message buyers and track performance. Facebook has also rolled out a new free verification system called Facebook Verified which authenticates users using a selfie and displays a mark across Facebook Dating, Marketplace and Groups. And last but not least, Facebook is testing an immersive full-screen video mode that will initially roll out in “video-heavy” international markets, and make its way to the U.S. next year.
We’ve completely rebuilt the Android X app from the ground up.
It’s faster, smoother, and more reliable than the old version in every way. We modernized the foundation so everything just feels better: scrolling, loading, notifications, you name it.pic.twitter.com/ULlSwiIlvV
X has finally fulfilled its promise and refreshed the Android version of the app. This version has been in development for almost a year and was built from scratch. The app promises to have better loading, scrolling, notifications and more. X head of product Nikita Bier described the app as “faster, smoother and more reliable. But most of all: it will enable us to build new features at lightning speed.” Existing Android users can get the new X app by updating their existing app through the Google Play Store.
Bluesky has launched a new feature for its AI assistant Attie called Quests. Quests lets users search for information and news across the Bluesky social network – aka the Atmosphere.
Quests gives users the chance to ask open-ended questions – for example, you could ask Attie to pull information about trending topics, or help identify the most influential accounts. Quests is currently in beta testing and users will be invited in from a waitlist over the next few weeks.
