Edits adds new features to beta testing tab

Meta has added new editing features on its Edits app through its beta tab. The beta tab gives users early access to upcoming features that are in early testing. Some of the new features you can try include speed ramping, color-correction adjustment and a new way to manage ongoing projects.

X reboots influencer rewards programme 

X is changing how it pays influencers and creators with a new “Original Content Rewards” programme. The existing Revenue Sharing programme will stop taking new users and existing users will continue to earn money until 7th September.  The new programme opens the following day. Here’s the rules: you need to subscribe to one of X’s Premium tiers, have over 500 and have 500,000 Home Timeline impressions in 90 days.

Snapchat teaches brands to be Gen Z-funny

Surveying over 6,000 social media users between 13 and 28 from the U.S., U.K., Canada, France, Germany and India, Snapchat has revealed that young audiences want to see brands lean into humour. But from 67 to aura farming and unc, it can be tough for brands to decode gen Z humour. To give brands a boost, Snapchat’s new report provides a guide on comedy writing and tips for marketers looking to connect with young audiences.

Reddit expands moderation tools test

Reddit is continuing its test of its new Rules Hub with a range of AI-powered moderation tools. Moderators will be able to choose which rules will be automatic, decide what happens when a rule is triggered, preview it, and more. Reddit is also looking to make it easier for people to join Reddit communities with improved detection of harmful content. The platform is also putting stricter restrictions on its API usage to protect the “unique value of its user insights” – aka protecting the insights provided by its communities from turning up on AI platforms instead.

Meta is adding new features for its Meta One subscribers. These include: a bigger follow button on Reels to encourage people to follow you, expanded access to its AI response tools on Messenger, the ability to “auto-invite” people that engage with your posts, and more.
