The role

We are seeking an ambitious Research & Insight Analyst who possesses a keen cultural sensibility and a ‘chronically online’ mindset. This individual will be adept at unearthing inspiring cultural insights that align with our vision to be the foremost experts in social behaviour & culture, driving innovation, creativity, and effectiveness in our ideas.

The Research & Insight Analyst will collaborate with strategists and account service teams to cultivate deep cultural understandings and illuminate emergent trends from the social landscape. You will be instrumental in the nuanced interpretation of qualitative social data, identifying patterns in conversations, and translating these into profound insights for initiatives such as understanding brand affinity within online communities, tracking the evolution of cultural narratives, analysing emerging subcultures, monitoring reputation through the lens of lived social experiences, and developing deep empathy for diverse audience segments. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to discern the subtle shifts in online discourse and recommend proactive strategies that resonate with contemporary culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Cultural Insight Development & Social Listening

  • You have a sophisticated understanding of brand, digital, and social marketing, coupled with a deep knowledge of online platforms and social media. You can connect disparate social data signals and cultural fragments, movements and moments, and decode them into powerful, actionable insights.
  • You are skilled at immersing yourself in online communities, performing deep social listening, and parsing qualitative observations into compelling narratives that directly inform strategic recommendations and foster impactful discussions about cultural momentum.

Teamwork and Relationship Management

  • You’re an exceptional collaborator, working seamlessly with strategists and account service, to co-create frameworks for understanding cultural impact and aligning on methodologies for exploring the fluid nature of online discourse.

Cultural Impact & New Business

  • You serve as an internal authority on social insights and cultural effectiveness, driven by an ongoing commitment to demonstrating the profound value of our work through a nuanced understanding of social dynamics.
  • You contribute to new business efforts by showcasing our expertise in cultural insight development through thought leadership and pitching.

Reporting & Analysis Support

  • From time to time, you will also be called upon to support various reporting needs. This includes assisting with the preparation of social effectiveness and insight reports for clients, contributing to internal cultural trend briefings, and occasionally helping to compile performance summaries for ongoing campaigns. Your input will ensure these reports are enriched with a deep understanding of social dynamics and cultural nuances.

Your skills and experience:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience working for a creative agency, research agency, or publisher, with a strong emphasis on cultural analysis and social insight generation.
  • 3+ years of experience collaborating with clients and translating complex social insights into strategic recommendations for marketing stakeholders within an organization.
  • A functional understanding of social listening and cultural intelligence platforms, including tools for tracking online conversations and identifying emerging trends (e.g., Brandwatch, Talkwalker), analysing influencer resonance through a cultural lens (e.g., Tagger, Traackr), and pulling and aggregating public social data (Crowdtangle, Fanpage Karma) – as well as interpreting qualitative social data for deeper understanding.
  • You have excellent project management skills, with the ability to work efficiently across multiple teams, clients, and timelines simultaneously. 
  • Strong proficiency in Google Sheets, Google Slides, and AI tools such as Gemini and Chat GPT. 
  • An irrepressible passion for social and continued learning.
  • You can build and maintain strong relationships internally and externally, based on credibility and trust. 
  • You are a clear and confident communicator, able to craft a strong narrative and present persuasively.
  • Other people will describe you as analytical, curious, collaborative, proactive, resourceful, flexible, open, accountable, and someone who always acts with integrity. 
  • You are an enthusiastic and energetic personality who likes to contribute to the agency culture.
