Instagram has added new features to its video editing app, Edits. Firstly, within insights, you can now see more information on the accounts reached and can filter by likes, comments, and saves. Instagram is expanding Trial Reels to more users after launching the feature with selected users late last year. ICYMI, Trial Reels are Reels that are shown to a selection of users who don’t follow your profile and can give you early insight into how well the Reel will perform. To qualify for the feature, you need to have at least 1,000 followers and have a public account.
YouTube is introducing YouTube Charts in place of its Trending page and Trending Now lists. Rather than having all content in one big list, popular content will now be broken down into different categories. The new charts include Trending Music Videos, Weekly Top Podcast Shows, and Trending Movie Trailers. YouTube plans to add more content categories in the future.
YouTube has updated its creator program, putting heavy limits on AI-generated content, cracking down on creators’ ability to generate revenue from “inauthentic” content. There was concern among creators that the update would prevent being able to monetise on reaction videos, but YouTube Head of Editorial & Creator Liaison Rene Ritchie reassured that the change is a “minor update” to YouTube’s policies and should not impact monetisation.
Meta has added some new features to its content management API. Firstly, it has added a ‘recommended creator content’ in its Ads Manager, which will give brands AI-generated recommended creators based on their target audience. And, it is now much smoother to post your Instagram content to Facebook directly from third-party tools.
