Facebook has announced a host of new AI-powered features. Firstly, a new animated profile picture feature will apply motion effects to photos. So, now when people stalk visit your profile, you can be waving right at them. Stories and Memories are also getting a refresh with a “Restyle” tool, which lets you change images with text-based prompts. And, Facebook is also rolling out animated backgrounds on text posts.
Meta-owned Threads has announced a new feature named “Dear Algo”. The feature will let users tell Threads what they want to see more or less of in their feed. If you type “Dear Algo” in a Thread’s post, followed by what you would like to see more (or less) of, Threads will adjust your feed accordingly. It’s important to note that the feed change only lasts three days, so it’s not a permanent feed change. Dear Algo is available now in the U.S., New Zealand, Australia, and the U.K.
TikTok has launched a “Local Feed” on the U.S. version ofthe app. The Local Feed shows content related to each user’s location, including travel, news, events, dining and more. This also means that TikTok is asking for more location information, but users can control precise location sharing through the app’s settings. The Local Feed launched at the end of 2025 in select markets, including the U.K., France, Italy, and Germany.
