Meta has announced an extensive suite of AI updates and tools at Advertising Week. Key updates include giving advertisers the option to upload strategy documents and brand voice guidelines to train Meta’s AI Business Assistant and use the assistant to adjust ad budgets, update targeting criteria, and build campaign assets via conversational prompts. The Advantage+ creative tools will now automatically turn static product images into short-form videos. Meta has also partnered with Shopify, PayPal, Stripe, and Adyen to enable direct product checkouts within Messenger and Meta AI conversations.
Meta’s Threads has officially launched Gems, an automated system designed to recognise and highlight high-performing public posts and direct replies that drive meaningful conversations. Using an algorithmic model, the platform scores content based on three core pillars: Perspective, Discussion and Originality. When a post qualifies, the creator receives a notification and earns an in-stream badge to spotlight their content as a primary conversation starter.
TikTok has launched new e-commerce options with a native AI shopping assistant and one-click checkout. The interactive assistant helps users with product discovery, sizing questions, and personalised recommendations, allowing users to make instant purchases directly within the video feed via “Buy Direct.”
