Next Gen: Supporting young creative talent

Our News

Today we’re launching Next Gen – a programme to support young talent in their path into the creative industry. In this blog, Kate Herbert, Head of People & Culture, outlines the programme and how to get involved.

We’re very excited to be launching Next Gen today – a programme to ignite the passion of young minds, and catapult them into the creative industry. The path into the creative world of work can be tough, often with a lack of awareness and support around jobs. Next Gen is here to change the game, and make sure talent knows where to start.

Through a series of initiatives, we’re aiming to educate young people and provide them with the tools they need to excel in their chosen path. We’re on the hunt for passionate, enthusiastic people who are looking for support in pursuing a role in design, strategy, project management – whatever it may be.

Check out our available programmes here – Upstarts, Academic Partnerships and Inspiration and Immersion sessions.

Upstarts: This initiative is a week-long work experience programme aimed at 16-18 year olds still in full time education. This programme collaborates with schools to provide students the opportunity to gain insight into the exciting, fast-paced world of social media marketing and agency life. Over the course of one week, we will offer a creative challenge alongside coaching from our team of experts, giving students the chance to show us what they’ve got.

Academic partnerships: We are partnering with universities and colleges whose course content aligns with what we can offer. Through these partnerships, we will provide paid placements, inspiration sessions, mentorship with key staff and the opportunity to work on live and mock briefs. We also partner with organisations that specifically support our industry, such as the School of Communication Arts and BIMA.

Inspiration and immersion sessions: We want to inspire those who are currently in education, or unaware of the creative industry, to consider a career in it and perhaps one day – with us! Our teams are keen to engage with students about the available roles in the industry, while showcasing some of the stellar projects they could be involved in. Each year, we select a small number of institutions to visit our team. We have already partnered this year with the Media Trust, Football Beyond Borders and Birmingham City University’s Institute of Creative Arts.

Schools, universities, budding creatives – we need you! Check out our website to apply for our programmes now. We’re excited to meet the next generation of creative talent.
