The role
THE ROLE
The Group Account Director is a key leadership role within our agency, responsible for overseeing a portfolio of client accounts and managing a team of account directors and managers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in account management, client relationship building, and strategic marketing planning. The Group Account Director will be a strong leader and communicator, capable of driving client success, fostering team collaboration, and contributing to the overall growth of the agency.

Traditional agency experience is not required, but it’s a plus. What matters is your deep understanding of what resonates with social audiences. This role is energetic, innovative and forward-thinking. Alongside engaging with communities, you’ll guide brands by staying ahead of social trends and cultural moments. In return, you’ll join a global agency dedicated to generating buzzworthy ideas for some of the world’s leading brands.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior clients (including C-suite), acting as their strategic advisor and ensuring their satisfaction. You should be able to strategically guide clients, understand their business goals, and provide valuable insights to drive their marketing success.
- Lead and motivate a team of account directors and managers, providing mentorship, guidance, and fostering a productive working environment.
- Develop and implement strategic account plans that align with client objectives and business goals.
- Identify opportunities for client growth and develop sound and actionable annual and quarterly Account plans.
- Actively participate in new business pitches.
- Oversee the financial performance of accounts within the portfolio, ensuring profitability and managing budgets effectively. Includes effectively monitoring account health, managing a revenue forecast and reporting to leadership on a consistent basis.
- Develop staffing plans and scopes of work (project-based and retainer)
- Collaboration with internal teams and their respective senior leads (creative, media, strategy, etc.) to ensure seamless execution of client campaigns.
- Identify proactive opportunities and develop proposals in collaboration with senior department leads.
- Understanding of agency resourcing and P&L
- Skillfully navigate challenging client situations or internal disagreements to achieve positive outcomes.
- Develop a deep understanding of the agency’s strengths and ways of working, and represent the agency professionally to clients and key stakeholders.
- Maintain rigor and consistency in use of agency financial systems and templates.
- Highly proficient with Google Suite (Gmail, Doc, Slides, Sheets, Drive, Meet, Chat, Gemini) and Slack. Baseline knowledge of A.I. tools and functions. Added plus: Knowledge of Asana.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in account management or a related field, with a focus on client relationship building and strategic planning.
- Proven experience in leading and managing a team.
- Emotional intelligence and ability to manage and build the relationships with clients
- Managing multiple workstreams/clients and leading the team accordingly
- Serve as the senior most lead on the account and course correcting through the engagement of the agreed upon scopes
- Financial literacy and management of large scale budgets
- Knowledge of brand experience, influencer/creator marketing, social-first creative and strategy playbooks.
- Strong expertise in social media marketing
- Leading New Business Pitches
- Ability to effectively and clearly present to a group and lead development of a client facing deck
- Facilitate weekly 1×1 meetings with direct reports
