TikTok launches new premium and brand-safe ad slot, ‘Pulse Premiere’
TikTok has announced the launch of a new premium ad product that will allow marketers to position their brand ads directly after TikTok’s publisher and media partners’ content. This is the first time this will be allowed on the platform and will be available in a dozen categories, including lifestyle, sports, entertainment, education and more. The company is partnering with the likes of NBCU, Condé Nast, DotDash Meredith, BuzzFeed and others, in an effort to pull in more premium ad dollars. The ad slot – “Pulse Premiere” – offers a brand-safe space within TikTok’s social video network, as ads are guaranteed to run immediately after what TikTok refers to as “suitable TikToks” from premium publishers. The product will roll out to U.S. advertisers in the second half of the year with other markets to follow.
Twitter Blue subscribers fall, inactive accounts are removed and more updates
After launching Twitter Blue last November, more than half of the earliest subscribers are no longer subscribed to the service. Around 54.5 percent of users have unsubscribed in just six months. Of the subscribers left, most followers have few subscribers and approximately 3,352 have no followers at all. In other news, Twitter CEO Elon Musk is removing accounts that haven’t been used in ‘several years’ and therefore will be freeing up desired usernames. Twitter is also thinking about a new verification plan for small businesses that is cheaper than the current $1000. Musk tweeted about the plan but didn’t reveal any indication of cost.
LinkedIn’s new AI will write messages to hiring managers
LinkedIn is experimenting with new AI features, including one that will generate brief, cover letter-like messages that candidates will be able to send to hiring managers. The feature is starting to roll out now for the site’s premium subscribers. With the update, users will see the option to “Let AI draft a message to the hiring team” alongside open roles on the platform’s jobs page. The feature draws on “information from your profile, the hiring manager’s profile, the job description, and the company of interest” to create a “highly personalised” message, according to the company.
