The role

What does the role involve?

Great ideas can come from anywhere across the agency. It will be your job to spot, inspire, ideate, and develop great ideas and then turn them into great executions. To do the job well, you’ll need a good sense of craft and desire to get your hands dirty, understand strategy, and most importantly, possess the ability to bring out the best in others.

For this role, we are seeking someone with superior knowledge of and passion for sport, particularly soccer, and gaming.

Who are we looking for?

  • You have your finger on the pulse of the latest trends and innovations within culture, sport, & social media, and the ability to spin this knowledge into thumb-stopping content.
  • As one of the agency’s client-facing leaders, you will be confident, inspiring, motivating, and intelligent as hell. You will be teaching by doing, nurturing, and showing writers, art directors, and other creatives the big opportunities.
  • To be successful in this role you will have to be relentless in your pursuit of quality, brimming with culture-centered ideas and thorough when presenting them.

Key Areas of Competence

  • Leadership. This isn’t just about you coming up with the idea every time, it’s also about owning it. While you will collaborate with others, you will be driving the creative process all the way to the finish line.
  • Art-Obsessed. You won’t just love creative work, you will live it. In fact, you are probably fixated with design, writing, music, and photography and want to talk to others about it.
  • Presentation. You will be comfortable standing in front of a room with everyone’s eyes on you. You will be able to present work with a fully thought-through argument. You will be eloquent and able to articulate your thoughts and capable of adapting your presentation style to suit the situation.
  • Persuasion. You will be good at winning people around to your way of thinking. Especially if they’re clients but also other team members.
  • Pitching In. You will not be above lending a hand to others or doing things that fall outside the remit of a traditional creative. We are all in this together.

Your Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Head of Creative in setting creative expectations
  • Collaborate with the Creative, Strategy and Account teams to generate and develop original content ideas
  • Preparing and presenting ideas for client presentations, both remote and in-person – includes developing creative decks that can connect creative thinking back to research, insights and strategy
  • Work with designers, editors, writers, producers, and others to turn approved ideas into top-class executions
  • Champion high-level story-telling and visual craft at all times
  • Be front and center in the winning of new clients. Be hands-on in pitches.
  • Help lead clients to evolve their approach and partner with the agency to deliver world-changing social thinking
  • Proactively provide creative solutions for clients and inspire others to do the same
  • Spot and ideate against rising social and behavioral trends – must have an innate knowledge of social platforms and their native features, as well as social content types and specs and understand how to optimize creative for each platform
  • Present ideas, work and thought leadership persuasively to all audiences
  • Build and nurture collaborative relationships across the business whether it’s with strategy, design, editorial, or production
  • Inspire a creative team to deliver best in class and ultimately award-winning creative campaign ideas
  • Nurture a diverse team of creatives. Support them to identify growth areas and opportunities and champion their development

What we’re looking for?

  • Demonstrable experience creating ideas worth talking about for the world’s largest brands
  • Portfolio must have examples of cross-discipline creative campaigns
  • A positive, solutions-focused, and collaborative mindset
  • An ability to inspire, influence, and motivate others – must have the confidence to speak up and provide a strong creative POV both internally and externally.
  • Hybrid creative skills – someone with strong copywriting & storytelling skills who can both art direct and write. Must be comfortable, ideating, making, and directing, with a high attention to detail.
  • Experience on shoots and comfortable with productions both large and small
  • Willingness to get your hands dirty and get stuck in
  • Experience building teams and resourcing projects
  • Possession of a robust & tasteful network of designers, artists, photographers, creators
  • Self-starter with an ability to ideate independently as well as in groups
  • Strong project and time management skills, with the flexibility to juggle multiple clients, projects and deadlines at at time
  • Strong work ethic and ambition for excellence
  • Prior agency experience, at least 2 years at Creative Director level
