We Are Social is seeking a Strategist to join our growing Sport team! We Are Social Sport is the first specialist arm of the agency, made up of a team of sports-obsessed social specialists. About You

Inquisitive, dynamic and flexible; you are passionate about every aspect of the strategic process, from diving deep to understand a brand and audience to living and breathing what is unfolding in culture, while always interrogating its implications for our clients.

Deeply curious and investigative by nature, you understand how important it is to understand every last detail of your clients’ business, product, brand and customer while having the ability to zoom out and see the bigger picture. You crave collaboration with research and insights and creative teams and always act as a custodian for the brand and for the audience–making sure whatever we say and do in social is connected to a source of truth.

You always look for an opportunity to go beyond the ask, ask “why” and deliver what clients didn’t know they needed, while maintaining a positive attitude, empathy and patience for the process of pushing new ways of thinking through the door.

You’re not just a sports fan, but someone who is deeply embedded in sports culture and communities. You understand the nuances of sports marketing within the ever-evolving digital landscape and the growing intersection of sports and broader culture.

Requirements

About the role

Development of creative briefs

Taking client briefs, challenging them and developing an inspiring and single-minded creative brief rooted in a game changing insight. You will work on strategy for existing clients, together with supporting new business.

Partnership with research & insights and creative teams

Collaborating with R&I and creative to tell a simple story that sells in insights, ideas and key takeaways–no matter the size or scale. Build on ideas and challenge them respectfully and without subjectivity.

Editorial + channel planning

Developing actionable and simple strategic frameworks that identify, define and map out why, where, when and how brands should show up to drive business and audience goals while thinking outside the box and never settling for status quo.

Client collaboration and communication

Articulate strategic POVs and stories to clients with clarity and excitement. Balancing flexibility with push back in service of the brand and the audience.

Our Ideal Person has:

  • Minimum 2 years work experience in an advertising, PR, or digital marketing agency or similar field
  • In-depth understanding of social media platforms, best practices and behaviors
  • Strong cultural curiosity and respect for the power of brands and marketing
  • Familiarity and interest in the influencer and creator space
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentations skills with high attention to detail
