The role

We Are Social is looking for the next Head of Strategy to join Sydney’s Leadership Team.  This role requires an inspiring thought leader with experience and passion for social. As the Head of Strategy, you are responsible for the quality of the thinking in the agency and for leading the development of our creative response, one that aligns with We Are Social’s vision – to create ideas worth talking about.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role is designed for someone who is a self-directed learner, has their finger on the pulse of culture, goes above and beyond expectations, works well in a collaborative agency and can provide insightful clarity and direction for our clients. Your key responsibilities are outlined below: 

  • Build and lead a high-performing, multi-disciplined strategy, media and research and insights team.
  • Identify where our clients can use social for the greatest impact on their business and develop strategic maps to deliver this impact.
  • Demonstrate skill in digital and social marketing with a well-honed brand planning capability.
  • Establish direct relationships with senior stakeholders in our client’s businesses.
  • Communicate creative and strategic intent to our clients and the value it will provide.
  • Collaborate across the agency to develop and activate creative strategies to the greatest effect and execute the social vision for the brand.
  • Write inspiring creative briefs and map the role of individual touch points across owned, paid and earned channels.
  • Create social media ecosystems tailing the social media strategy to each platform.
  • Play an active role in pitching for new business and developing senior client relationships.
  • Contribute to the broader management of the agency as a core member of the leadership team.
  • Make continued learning a priority for yourself and your team and actively contribute as a learning lead and mentor to the agency’s programme.

ROLE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience within an agency with a minimum of 8-10 years in (social) strategy.
  • Culturally connected and fluent with digital and social strategy, including paid media literacy.
  • Confidence leading and inspiring a multi-disciplined team. A respected senior leader with a stimulating point of view, and are well-connected to colleagues, contemporaries and senior stakeholders. 
  • You are culturally connected and are a self-directed learner, motivated to remain at the forefront of social and digital marketing.This gives you the ability to provide insight and direction to inform growth for We Are Social and our clients.
  • A highly analytical mindset and the ability to prioritise and manage projects. Focussed, accountable and delivery oriented. You have high standards and work hard to deliver great results.
  • Someone who gives precedence to growth, development, current and projected trends, agility and adaptability.
