Meta is expanding its AI features to Instagram to help you easily edit images. As explained by Instagram: “Whether you want to simply remove an unwanted detail from your story, include a playful element, change the vibe using a whimsical effect, or start a trend with your friends with Add Yours stickers, now you can.” You can also use preset effects for your images by adding an “Add Yours” sticker so that others will be able to use the same settings.
With the spookiest day of the year coming up, Instagram’s Edits has rolled out some freaky new features. These include a range of Halloween fonts, themed sound effects like “Bubbling cauldron” and “Adventure theme”, and seasonal filters. And in less scary news, Edits is also updating its voiceover recording options with a new countdown time and the option to re-record.
Finally, Snapchat is making its AI image generation lens available to all users! Imagine Lens launched in September but only for paid subscribers. The lens is a fun way for you to edit your snaps using custom prompts – or if you’re feeling creative, make up your own. If you are in need of some inspiration, you could prompt the app, “Turn me into an alien”, after snapping a selfie, or request an image of a “grumpy cat.”
YouTube has shared more info on its likeness detection tool, which it officially announced last month. The tool will work by creators uploading a picture of their face, their government ID, and performing a face scan, which YouTube will then use as a reference to find uploads that include their likeness.
YouTube has shared insights into its new “Ask Studio” AI chatbot, which is built into YouTube Studio. The bot is designed to help you extract insights and ideas from your channel data. This includes giving you a summary of key themes, sentiment, comments, and other helpful info. YouTube’s been live testing the tool with selected users since July, and is looking to expand it to more creators soon. Users with access can tap the new sparkle icon in the top right of their dashboard to access the tool.
