Tiktok has been one of the top social media platforms of the year, especially with the pandemic going on. In Tiktok’s The Year on Tiktok: Top 100, authentic content has fast become a popular way of communicating with users all over the world.

Snapchat recently announced its new curated entertainment content platform – Spotlight. This in-app entertainment platform is a new way for users to discover best and news user-generated content.

On 17 November 2020, Twitter announced that they have finally rolled it out globally. Similar to the stories format that all other major social media platforms have already hopped on to, Twitter has now released their take on it. For those that are unfamiliar with this new feature, it’s another content format within Twitter that is live on the user’s account for only 24 hours, with Fleets, users can share a text post, react to a tweet, record a video or share a photo.

Instagram is pushing its TikTok-lookalike Reels and eCommerce Shop further exposure by setting the Reels tab on the home screen for all users, and Shop tab on the lower function bar. This comes as no surprise, as we've seen how Instagram has been piggybacking on the Tik Tok trend recently, and looks to explore new revenue opportunities on the eCommerce front.

Google believes that businesses have already spent a lot of time and money on building websites, and that these contents can be repurposed to further save time and money. As part of its efforts to utilize AI to produce multimedia content, the tech behemoth is testing and working on a new “research prototype pipeline” that converts websites into short videos that can be used as ads.
