We Are Social Sport London is a team of 40+ sport obsessed digital researchers, strategists, creatives and producers. We understand how culture, technology and consumer behaviour come together around sport and create opportunities for impact-creating, award winning creative work – we call this Game Changing Sports Marketing. We work with many of the biggest and best sports brands, rights holders and sponsors in the world, including adidas, Unilever, Pepsi, Ferrari and more.

Our most recent work has seen us help Pepsi, Meta and Adidas deliver some of their biggest and most innovative campaigns to date, from breaking into the metaverse to smashing records on TikTok.

The Opportunity

Do you want the opportunity to shape the future of social-first sports content, working with some of the world’s most iconic brands?

Are you passionate about sports, and keen to collaborate with globally recognised brands?

We are looking for an Account Director to join an established team here in London who are pushing the boundaries of social media for world-class sports brands. You’ll be at the heart of major campaigns, balancing always-on social media strategy with large-scale content production, and cross-channel performance across multiple markets. You will have experience managing a portfolio of around £1m+, leading campaigns with large budgets, and coordinating closely with a senior team, including the Head of Sport. You’ll have the chance to work with high-profile sporting talent and influencers, collaborate across departments to ensure deadlines are met, and potentially travel internationally.

Requirements

What You’ll Have Delivered Elsewhere

  • Managed and grew client portfolios with an annual value exceeding £1m. You will have a track record of increasing portfolio revenues year-on-year through strategic counsel, upselling, and cross-selling diverse services from social-first activations to large-scale content productions.
  • Led the end-to-end delivery of complex, production-led campaigns. Success will be measured by your ability to deliver these campaigns on time, within budget, and to a standard that exceeds client expectations.
  • Achieved client retention rate of 90% or above and showcase examples of how your strategic relationship management has directly led to significant, long-term account growth and client advocacy.
  • Led and mentored high-performing, cross-functional teams. You will have fostered a collaborative environment that resulted in a measurable increase in campaign performance, team efficiency, and the exceeding client KPIs.
  • Successfully navigated the complexities of working with A-list sporting talent and macro-influencers, from contract negotiation to campaign activation, ensuring seamless integration and maximising the client’s return on investment.
  • Proven experience of concurrently overseeing 5-10 complex projects while maintaining meticulous attention to detail, resulting in a consistent track record of flawless execution on major deliverables.
  • You will leverage a deep, nuanced understanding of the global sports landscape (leagues, federations, athlete trends) to provide credible, strategic counsel to clients, unlock unique commercial opportunities, and inform creative that genuinely resonates with fans.

  • Experience establishing yourself as a go-to person on the account 
  • Always takes full accountability for your results/deliverables
  • Experience working on a fast-paced account
  • Social channel expertise, especially TikTok and YouTube 
  • Being solutions-driven and being confident in vocalising them 
  • Experience in minimising the need for clients/stakeholders to escalate issues above me or to require unnecessary input from my colleagues
  • Will contribute new ideas and points internally which are then taken forward/adopted
